Personal thoughts:
The lyrics are mostly very violent and abusive, it even borders on traumatic,
getting you at your most vulnerable emotional weakspot, eventually.
But how do they get you, it doesnt hit you, because the music is not agressive
(i realy dont think it is meant to be, and if its only the beats sometimes,
that keep you on the edge, constantly caressing you),
its in a way very gentle, its like beeing gently huged in a save place in hell.
and hell represents a barrier which completely shields from the outsideworld.
it doesnt feel like hate is the goal, it feels like its just the means
to guide you to love (i think this is the art this genre has to master).
Its like that ancient voice deep inside you, the music makes it scream,
leaching out to your conciousness enchanting you with sweet confusion,
about what the fuck just happened and where did that feeling come from ?
am i sick.. do i get pleasure from violence.. thats not like me, what is going on here.
But not for that long, that you actually can follow this train of thought phylosophically,
just like a whiplash flash, the musical form of bdsm.
Heres some sample lyric (enjoy the abuse):

I think that agression is a channel that has two directions. An inward and
an outward direction. You can express it outwardly in violence and destruction.
Or you can follow the path within and reflect on it (and i dont mean bottleing it up,
ignoring it, surpressing it), which few ppl realy dare to do.
Magnify aggressions, nurtureing it, letting it grow, for.. a better view.
(serial killers do outward things.. )
Maybe it is because of fear, or ignorance. Is it healthy to destroy some furniture to
vent your bottled up anger ? I dont know but it certainly seems weak to me.
It just requires alot of creativity and discipline to inspect your agressive emotion.
And i think the inward direction is the approach that this kind of music is taking.
Guiding you through that journey through hell, instead of
unleashing hell onto the world, you turn it into something beatyfull,
just by making you aware of the way your hate dominates your thinking,
and you accept that image, only then can you let it go and embrace your enemy.
(it seems wierd but its like loving hate so much that you dont need to express it
anymore, the impulse is used up, it defused itself, and turned into energy,
into something lovely and fuzzy :P)
you have to feel hate.. feel it, otherwise you can never let it go
because you dont know where it lives to unlock its door.
theres something in the beats and voices, that someone who is lisstening
the first time, might not hear, but it kind of makes you addicted.
the essence of this band is not immediately obvious, it takes
some time, lisstening, to get to the 2nd stage, but the time is bridged by those unique
sound combinations.
oh, did i say that combichrist is excellent dance music, its outstanding.
I think its mostly lisstened for that matter anyways.
when you lissten to their music, dont be repulsed, let it happen, trust and you will
get value for life (no it will not fuck you up, it will teach you to let go,.. brainmassaged)
They certainly never betray your trust, not in a single title.
Unlike some horror movies that constantly try to frighten you with sudden loud noises.
(i mean realy!? ...come on!.. why?.. ... imbeciles..), they dont know what horror is realy about.
Anyhow, Combichrist understands what their genre is about, its a must have and must lissten to!
